Constituency
Louth, Meath East
Dear Sirs,
As a resident of Drogheda South “Louth constituency” specifically, up until January of this year and now of Donore village which literally lies on the outskirts of Drogheda town but currently in a separate Dáil constituency namely “Meath East” I would argue that the current constituency boundaries are not reflective of the reality or facts on the ground.
All local services for inhabitants of Donore and indeed the neighbouring satellite villages of Drogheda both in Louth & Meath such as Mornington, Bettystown, Laytown, Julianstown, & Duleek in Meath and Tullyallen, Monasterboice, Termonfeckin & Baltray in Louth both in terms of proximity and convenience lie within Drogheda. I would argue that this natural geographical connection should determine which constituency it should lie-in going forward and not historic or outdated county boundary lines.
A review of East Meath is therefore necessary to formalise this arrangement.
Yours sincerely,
Donald Byrne
