I am writing as a resident of the Navan Road Area. Dublin west has contained the Ashtown A and B electoral maps for two general election cycles. This has allowed continuity of representation and restored a part of the Navan road area to Dublin west where it had been located for many years prior to a previous transfer. 

I strongly believe along with many fellow residents that the Navan road area incorporating Ashtown A and B electoral registration areas should be retained in Dublin West.

If additional areas are required for addition to the Dublin West constituency for constitutional reasons it would make sense for the constituency commission to consider adding further areas along Blackhorse Avenue down to the North Circular Road which is effectively a continuity of Ashtown B.

The commission could also explore adding parts of Cabra to the constituency which would in effect extend the Ashtown A area.  This would allow for the  geographical area of Dublin West be maintained whilst also reflecting the increased population in the area.
