I feel constituencies should not divide counties, the historical & tradition divide in Ireland and the means for other public services and State bodies.

For example, parts of South Donegal are in the Sligo/Leitrim constituency. As a constituent I do not know our TD’s and I feel ostracised from the rest of the county.  The main focus of the TD’s work is Sligo/Leitrim, as this is where the most constituents dwell.  It does not help that for local elections we are in a different constituency and part of Donegal.

Therefore, I feel I am not properly being electorally represented. Many of the issues dealt with by a TD are local issues & therefore for consistency there should be alignment with the local authority areas.
