I wish to make a short submission in relation to Constituency Review and in particular the Constituency of Roscommon/Galway.

The last Review took 7,500 votes out of North East Roscommon and placed them in the new Constituency Sligo/Leitrim/South Donegal/North Roscommon.
This in my view disenfranchised those people in North Roscommon as no TD lived in that part of the Constituency.

I acknowledge that those elected did represent the area of North Roscommon but many living in the area felt unrepresented because of the geography of the region.

It is essential therefore that you give serious consideration to restablishing Co.Roscommon as one County.

I further ask you to consider Co.Roscommon as one Constituency only, because of its length(49.1 mls,79kms),.

This is a very rural landscape and I feel it should be a 3 seater/one Constituency simply known as Co.Roscommon.

The population has now increased to almost 70,000 people and because of that and its mainly rural make up I feel quite strongly that the County is entitled to 3 TD’s.
