Reunite Westmeath

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to add my voice to the movement for reuniting our local areas – Castlepollard, Delvin, Collinstown and Clonmellon – with the rest of Westmeath.

The arbitrary separation of these areas has been a social and political disaster. People look naturally to Mullingar as the county town. But those in these eastern areas were told they must vote in Meath West. The result was that many people were unsure where they should vote. It’s high time that the anomaly was rectified.
