Research on electoral participation and engagement

An Coimisiún Toghcháin (the Electoral Commission) is seeking applications from academics or post-doctoral researchers to undertake empirical research projects to explore influences on voter turn-out using the upcoming bye-elections to the Dáil in Dublin Central and Galway West as case studies.

Public Service Fellowship Opportunity with Taighde Éireann (Research Ireland)

An Coimisiún Toghcháin (The Electoral Commission) is partnering with Taighde Eireann (Research Ireland) on its Public Service Fellowship programme. The appointed Fellow will be seconded to An Coimisiún to work on a research project entitled “Generation Engage: understanding young people, elections and democracy in Ireland” the broad purpose of which is to explain the relationship between democratic participation and young people and focus on policy interventions designed to enhance engagement.
